Art Services Supervisor
Accountability Objective:
The Art Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation of finished artwork in alignment with customer specifications for final decoration. This role manages all aspects of the art processes supporting various decoration techniques while fostering a collaborative, customer-focused environment. Acting as a liaison between the art department and the broader organization, the supervisor ensures seamless communication and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, train, and mentor the art services team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Workflow & Scheduling Management: Oversee team scheduling, including PTO approvals, to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
- Recruitment & Talent Management: Conduct candidate interviews and participate in the selection process to build a skilled and cohesive team.
- Artwork Preparation & Quality Control: Review, proof, and prepare artwork for final output, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and production requirements.
- Remote Team Collaboration: Provide guidance and feedback to remote art teams, ensuring consistency in quality standards across locations.
- Production Coordination: Work closely with production teams to address art-related requirements and ensure seamless execution.
- Color Separation Management: Prepare and send color separations for production, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor department productivity, generating daily performance updates and monthly reports to drive improvements.
- Process Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records, including logs and documentation for all artwork-related processes.
- Personnel & HR Collaboration: Address personnel matters as they arise, engaging management and HR as needed.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Lead and implement projects involving new art processes, staying ahead of industry best practices.
- Paper Proof Library Maintenance: Ensure the Paper Proof Library is updated and that all new product launches are prepared on time.
- Vendor & Outsourcing Partner Management: Coordinate with vendors on production supplies and maintain strong relationships with outsourcing partners.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify and drive efficiency improvements within the department to optimize performance.
- Management Support: Assist the Manager with additional tasks and support broader company initiatives as required.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the department’s success.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel
- Proficient in PC computer systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be detailed oriented
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to meet/exceed established production efficiency standards
- Digitizing experience preferred but not required
- Ability to create and follow standard work
- Ability to utilize Continuous Improvement concepts and philosophies on a regular basis
